i have model satellite 2435-S255. The connector from the power cord to the battery is old and toasted. i’m broke and don’t want to pay to fix it. where can i find a cheap external charger?

try laptopparts.com or the manufacturers website( toshibausa.com). Toshiba parts are very expensive if you purchase from the manufacturer.

“External battery chargers” may not be the best option.
Order a replacement power cord from Toshiba’s web site. Do NOT use any other power cord.

Try New Egg or Frys over the net.
